Symmetry in 2:21-24

2:21-24 was identified by Dr. Raymond Farrin as a distinct section of a larger chiastic structure. To me, this passage seems to be a chiastic structure itself.

I asked Dr. Farrin if he agrees with me. He replied in the affirmative.

Here is my rhetorical analysis:

A     Naas and those who were before them; taqwa is a reason

              B     God’s creation; do not set up rivals to Allah

                             C     if you know

                             C’    if you are in doubt

              B’    People’s creation; invoke your helpers besides Allah

A’    Naas and rocks; a reason for taqwa
